Game Design & Development Case Study

Cozy Room is a prototype focused on the casual simulation and decorating genres. The central design challenge was developing an intuitive drag-and-drop mechanic that feels satisfying on both touchscreens (mobile) and desktop interfaces, ensuring a smooth and non-stressful experience for the player.

Design & Implementation

The project involved creating a large modular asset library (furniture, lighting, and decor) and implementing a flexible, free-placement grid system. I handled the core game design documentation, UI/UX flow, and ensured the final aesthetic—defined by soft, volumetric lighting and warm color palettes—met the core promise of creativity and relaxation.

  • Cross-Platform UI: Designed a responsive user interface compatible with various aspect ratios.
  • Optimized Asset Pipeline: Managed the import and preparation of over 100 low-poly decorative items.
  • Lighting System: Implemented soft, bakeable lighting to enhance the relaxing atmosphere.
