3D Low Poly Character
Asset created for Game development.
Technical Modeling & Texturing Case Study
This project focused on creating a stylized, low-polygon character optimized specifically for integration into a game development. The core challenge was achieving maximum visual appeal and character appeal while strictly adhering to a low poly-count budget for efficient performance and minimal draw calls.
Workflow & Optimization
The workflow included initial high-detail concept sculpting in blender followed by manual retopology to create a clean, game-ready mesh, ensuring proper edge flow for future animation. Texturing was achieved using hand-painted methods in Blender to give vibrant look without relying on complex, performance-heavy shader networks.
Key Achievements
- Game-Ready Mesh: Created a lightweight mesh (~3,500 tris) suitable for mobile platforms.
- Hand-Painted Style: Developed a stylized albedo texture to maximize visual quality with minimal resources.
